This is Rajee from India. I had a question reg Changing status from H4 to H1.My husband is working in US on H1B visa and I will be joining him on H4 visa. I am a S/W professional ,I wanted to know after how many days can I change the visa status. What would be procedure and documents required for the same.

It doesn't matter how long you're on H-4, when your H-1 is approved, you can file for change of status immediately.

Please clarify my some more doubt as well.

1) Do I need to apply for H1B visa before am travelling to US with H4 visa or after getting a job in US

2) If am travelling to US with my H4 visa,do I need to come back to India for H1B visa stamping.
