I'm trying to remember the name of a made for TV movie, possibly from the late 70s or early 80s. I think the main character's name was Soona but that's all I can remember. She was a little girl who was raised by her Grandmother. I distinctly remember a scene where she and some other children stoned a birth to death (not sure why I remember that part). I thought the movie was called Soona but have not been able to locate it.

That was entitled, "A Girl Named Sooner".

I watched that movie when I was 9 years old, and the only memory I have is the bird getting stoned to death... My father came and turned it off not allowing me to watch it because I was crying so much. I have been looking for it ever since and always hoped it would come on TV again. I was surprised someone else had the same memory of it as myself.
