Water coming from pool light J-box
Hello - I have a 2 year old in ground swimming pool with a thermocraft pool light junction box near the pumps and about 2.5 feet above the ground. Some weeks back I noticed water leaking from the J-box and upon removing the cover I have a fairly steady (albeit light) stream of water running from it. I presume there should not be water in this J-box but, then again, it has a rubber seal in the cover. This is to keep water out, not in, correct? What does such a leak indicate is the likely issue?
    Thanks

    Frank,
This is a mystery. No way could it be coming from the pool pump or returns, unless you are pumping water through the light bucket which seems unlikely.
Have you fixed the problem yet?

Is the box attached to the pool sidewalls with a series of brass , stainless steeel or plastic bolts? If so, tight each bolt, your gasket is leaking. If that doesn't fix the problem you could install a new gaskte with some silicone sealant.

Thanks all! I still don't quite know what is happening. I have isolated the leak to one of the ground wires from the lights. I thought it might be the spa light because it was burned out but when I pulled it from the spa, it was bone dry. I haven't checked the pool light because it still works and the water is too cold to climb in and pull it out. Yes, ballengerb1, the lights are held in place with metal bezels and a brass screw. I guess I'll just have to tough it out this weekend and pull that pool light to know for sure. Thanks for the feedback and I'll post my discoveries.
