Purchased a home AS-IS but was lied to. Is there recourse?
I purchased a home in Titusville Florida from a Real Estate Office who, on the listing, said the house is a "Stucco on Masonry" home with "City Water/Sewer". I have found the house is NOT on city sewer and the "Stucco on Masonry" is Stucco on Concrete board attached to a rotting/heavily termite damaged wood frame. The house was purchased one year ago. The "City Sewer" turned out to be a failed septic tank.
I also have a problem with the home inspectors that said we have at least 5 years on the roof. We found out not only do we not have 5 years but the roof has acually collapsed from were termites have eaten away a 1-2 foot section of the beam. Is there any recourse? Or are we just stuck for trusting the professionals?

Before you purchased it, the home inspection where the person climbed in the atic and under the house and checked out the foundation what did they say.

When you had the termine inspection done that is normlaly required by state law, unless you waive that inspection for some reason, what did the termine inspection say.

And was the home inspector licensed, insured and bonded?

A few issues, first , what law suit did not file within the first week or two after you found out there was no city sewer ?

Or did your waiting a year merely show you were OK with a septic
( which are fine, a lot of america use them, I have had them for years)

AS IS, is really AS IS and requires you as the buyer to do a very complete inspection of the home.

If the inspector on the roof, that was the inspection of the shingles from the outside, 5 years is basically a worn out shingle, at least to me, since that means it will need replacement soon

You may have recourse against the home inspection firm, but if you purchased AS-IS, then you have no recourse against the seller.
