    Dealing with obstinate adult children
I have three adult children who have chosen to put me through an emotional wringer; I have had enough of their wanting to beat me over the head with their emotional baggage that they have decided is all my fault. I have disowned them in my will, but I need a more spiritual cleansing of this matter. I have tried on and off for the past ten years to help these kids and they come back and throw things like, "You ruined my life/childhood because you made me babysit." They didn't take into account that I worked 2 - 3 jobs to support them because their father gambled everything away. He is Jesus to them. I have had enough and refuse to be their whipping boy.

Sometimes walking away and making your own life is all you can do.
I believe that often adult children just want a scapegoat to justify the way they want to live now. By now they should be able to see things for what they are from an adult perspective and not the way we make it seem to protect them when they are young.
If they believe dad and his gambling addiction was their savior let him deal with them now.

I understand that they are your children - but people only treat us the way we allow them to. Devote your time to yourself and your friends. When they call to give you crap, don't be there to answer the phone.
