I have been talking to a Philippine woman for over 6 months now, she is very poor and wants to work in the US, there is no work in the area where she lives. I would like to bring her here to the USA and hier her as a live in housekeeper, can this be done? I am 50yrs old, not married, and have a big house. We don't know where to start, what visa she would need, or even if this can be done. This lady has gone through so much in her life the way she lives, I would like to help her out anyway I could. What would be the easiest way to get her here to the US? Any information would be very helpful. Thank you...

It is possible, but it can very well be a fraud, there are 1000's of them from the philippine and other nations.

Only businesses can petition for alien workers BUT nature of the job must be specific jobs that you are unable to find people with such knowledge, skills, etc. There are many restrictions involved in hiring alien workers, the most important issue is the vacancies must be approved by Department of Labor, and quota is limited.

Jobs that are most likely to get work visas are medical doctors, nurses, engineers, specialists, etc. Non-skilled labor jobs such as nanny, housekeeper, gardener, etc. are not qualified for work visas.

Why is it so hard to bring someone from the Philippines here to the US. All I'm looking to do is give this woman a happy life and it seems like there's no way to bring her here. No one should have to live the way she does over there, just a mattress on the floor, sometimes no food, working 14 hrs a day for just coins, there has to be some way to get her here. If she was to go to Japan to stay with her sister, would it be easier to bring her here from Japan? Is there any place I can call or anyone to talk to who can help us. It breaks my heart every night hearing her cry on the phone because we can't find a way. There are so many other people here from other countries, there must be some way.

Your country is just being protective that's why they are strict to strangers us. Appearing helpless, marrying an american just to obtain US citizenship is very common (wherever) so proving a genuine in relationship or an intention of going back home upon going to US soil is extremely difficult. I wish you met a very educated woman who's able to handle herself financially.

Hi There, I understand how you feel. You are just` trying to help her out, but it's not quite that easy to bring her over here because of the immigration's strick Law that we all have to follow, even though, you saw and heard so many illegal aliens here working and making better for themselves and their relatives back home. What I think you should do, is this, if you think in your heart that she is for real and you care enough about here, go to the Philippines and marry her, It's more faster to petition her when you guys are man and wife, they give you the first priority to get her in the US. As to the answer of ylaira's comment, I hate to tell her that we're not all very well educated and nor financially secured or we would have just stayed home with the rest of our family.

Are you talking to her via e-mail/phone? A woman working for merely coins seems unable to afford a phone or even a computer. PC rooms costs money as well.

Has she asked you for any sort of money? If she hasn't, then are you willing to spend money on bringing her here? I'm assuming you're willing to send her money to buy her a plane ticket, no?

I don't own a computer either but Im able to rent usually close to schools because a lot doesn't have computers. I can also use the one here in my office (im planning to buy one in 2 weeks which I saved for long).

But I agree me must be watchful for this endless need.

No. It is just situated near schools. Students that need to do computer printed homework may rent from .37c- $1.5 per hour depending on the facilities and the location. Chatting, onlline gaming, Webcam are available.

Private cubicles is just not allowed if it's close to schools. You know webcam shows, It exists but it's prohibited.

Yeah, I figured they charged money for it. I've lived in the philippines, in Silang. If a woman is working all day for mere coins, I doubt she can afford internet connectivity.

This woman is no scam. Thanks to a good friend letting her use her PC, we are able to talk and see each other over the internet. I call her on her cell phone, which isn't new, it held together by tape and only works when it wants to, I've seen pictures of it, and she uses a SIM card which is cheap to buy. She live with her parents, her father is dying from liver cancer, I know all this as a fact. I sent her a camera for Christmas and she has been taking pictures of everything in her life, I must have over three hundred pictures that she was sent me so far. I have also talked to her bother and sister over the web cam too. I have seen pictures of her father in the hospital bed with her by his side. It a public hospital, which I've seen and called. I know everything about this girl, name, address, seen the run down house she lives in, which she is always shy to show me. She is the most wonderful, caring, honest, person I have ever known in my life. I will continue to look and asked questions anywhere I can, I will not give up on her. She never asked to be born poor, never asked for family health problems. I'll do everything I can and wait for as long as it takes until she can be here with me by my side, and yes, I will pay for anything she needs, visa, passport, plane fair, etc. It's a small price to pay to be able to give a person so beautiful inside a decent life.
