What does 1 1/2 lines mean on a pregnancy test
I just got married. And I think my hubby may have gotten me pregnant on the honeymoon (I don't think I'd be the first or last this happens to)

I took a pregnancy test and quite frankly I'm new at this. But the in short of the test says 1 bar for no 2 for yes. So what on earth does 1 1/2 bars mean? Does it mean I got abducted by aliens? Does this mean yes but it's only a half pregnancy with half the symptoms and half the time?

Next question... How do I tell my hubby in a way that won't freak him out / cause him to pass out / or harm anything because of freaking out (like me which that being said... how do I ask him to get a new trash can and toilet seat from me freaking out and may the old toilet seat rest in peace)

The second line may be faint that means there is a really good chance you can be pregnant. To be sure call the 1 800 number or wait a few days and try another one. Also wait and see if your period. More then likely it means you could be thoe.

Did you read the results in the time required for the test? Have you missed a period? When in doubt of the results, take another test. You may not have to worry about freaking hubby out if you are not absolutely sure.

If you have had this type of reading on your kit then it is time to get yourself booked into the Dr and have a proper test.

I called the 1 800 number... they told me the feint line means probably but I'm not very far along and to go see a doc and their barely enough for the test to detect

I took 3 and I gave it 5 minutes, they all came out the same. The 1 800 number told me it's not 1 1/2, it's actually 2. The second line is just really feint and it just means there's not a lot of the hormone to that clear, according to the 1 800 number.

If they are read in the allotted time frame, then a positive is a positive, even if faint. Sometimes, if you look at it afterwards, a faint line will appear as some tests will form a faint evaporation line that can appear to look positive. Only a few situations that would give a false positive.
Your doctor may do a blood test to confirm, or they may just do another urine test in the office. You can try another test on your own first if you want to in a few days and if you are pregnant, odds are you will see a more definite line.

Well I'm in the military so no matter what I do the military doctors will test me soon and I'm just going to wait a week or 2 before I take another one... to make sure

The same thing happened to me. It was a +/- test and my result looked like and upside down T, but the vertical line was darker than the horizontal one. I then took two more test that were digital with the words "pregnant" or "not pregnant". They both came up pregnant. I'm still in denial about this so I will take one more in the morning but my boobs have been hurting like hell and like 5 weeks ago I had very light bleeding for like half a day and I usually have a heavy flow that lasts a week. Have not had any bleeding since. I am so freaking right now.

My husband and I just found out that I'm pregnant, and when I'd taken the home pregnancy test one of the lines was faded also. So, you may very well be pregnant! I'd suggest taking another one or going to a doctor and getting tested! Hope that helps!
