Trouble shooting the hot water boiler
We have hot water heating and when the boiler comes on after a few minutes when it is shutting down it makes a weird noise. Can you let me know why this is happening
    Thanks

Can you sit it out, close up and try to tell us where the noise is coming from,, the boiler itself,, the pipes maybe,, more info would help

The noise is coming directly from the boiler

Without being there its hard to guess,, is it a metal to metal rattle? Is it a sound that maybe a small explosion like when the gas goes out,, is it even a gas fired boiler or oil burner maybe

Maybe a clanging sound from a damper closing,, does it keep you awake (very loud) kind of noise

NO, it is not a metal to metal sound. It is just probably when the damper is closing it is more a screechy sound. Then ithe boiler stops, it is a gas boiler.
