    The proper way to pray
How do we know that God listens to our prayer ? I'm a Catholic, and I usually say my Rosary daily and also pray. Laterly, I've been going through some problem and have been praying to God and ask for help and guidance. It seems like my prayers have been ignored. Maybe I'm not praying the right way ? I'm beginning to lose faith.

God knowns are problems, are you praying thanking him for what you have. Prayer is not a wish list for what we want, it is just a talk with our loving father.

And the answer is often NO also, none of the Apostles lived to retire to a large castle on the ocean, most suffered and ended up being killed in horrible deaths.

This is going to sound stupid but you have to pray the way that makes you feel most comfortable if that's the rosary okay, if it's going to a grocery store and screaming it that's okay too (though if you do this you're likely to be forcibly removed).
What I'm getting at is there is not right way to pray, people pray in the way that is best for them.
If you still feel like you need to know how others pray and would like to give it a wack there are some books out there, you can probably find them by looking up key words on Amazon.

G-d's not ignoring you, he has a plan for everything.
    Don't loose faith.

Keep praying. It's a test. It is during times when we are being tested that prayer brings us the most graces.

Anyone can pray when things are going well. It is those who persevere in tough times who are

Proverbs 17 3 As silver is tried by fire, and gold in the furnace: so the Lord trieth the hearts.

    Hang in there,

May God bless you with fortitude and perseverance in faith and love,

    Sincerely,

God loves his children very much, He is omnptresent and you can
Talk or pray to Him any time or any place. In His word He said He knows our needs
Before we ask Him. Nothing is unknown to God. I tell you this so you will not feel you
Are alone, He is always with you and hears you.The Lord teaches also in Matthew 6:5-14.
"and when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the syna ogues and the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth they have received their reward in full. But when you pray go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen then your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you . And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans , for they
think they will be heard because of their many words, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray;:
" Our father in heaven hollowed be your name, your kingdom come your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, forgive us debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors (sin) and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. When Jesus prayed to the father he liked to go off by himself and be alone.
I believe a person should set aside everyday to be alone and pray. Shutting out the
Rest of the world and have an intimate time with him. Have faith when your praying that God is listening and answering your prayers. Romans 10:17... "Faih comes from hearing
and hearing by the word of God. " It is essential to spend time everyday in reading God's word. Sometimes the answer to our prrayers is found in God's word as we read it.

    Hop this helps. Maggie 3

One thing to think about, if your prayers are not being answered, search your soul and heart for anything that could be blocking your prayer life. Do you have unforgiveness in your life, How about mad at somebody? Or gossip? There are many things that block our prayers. Before you can expect an answer to prayer, your heart must first be cleansed from all unrighcheness. Then you need to put yourself into a prayer mode. For you it is the rosary. And that is fine IF you are doing it with full understanding and not simply reciting some litergy that you were taught. God does not like repetition. He would much prefer a simply one on one conversation with you.

We can't begin to grasp the wisdom of the Lord.He may be answering you in ways that you have no clue. His wisdom and love are endless and being a good servant does not entitle you to have all your prayers answered in a way you can perceive on this earthly level.
Who is to say he will not answer you tomorrow or next week or next year?
Keep the faith my dear... to do otherwise is to cheat yourself.

    Loeyouall.
I believe God answers all prayers four different ways.
    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. maybe
    4. You've got to be kidding.
God has said yes to some of my prayers. The rest are yet to be answered as yes or have been answered in the other three ways.
When we pray the Lord's Prayer we ask that God's will be done.
We should realize that with God's infinite and perfect wisdom that is the way he will answer our prayers.
And as has been mentioned, He may be testing you.
If so do as the bible says; keep your faith and strengthen it to persevere to the end.
May God give you the strength to do that.
    Peace and kindness,
    Fred

GodAlmighty is all-powerful according to Christianity and gave you all that you face in your life. This is what you must work out with the help of others older and wiser.

    Choux,
Interesting that you would say that. Generally speaking you are right.
    But...
Some are older but no wiser and some young folks are surprisingly wise.

Pray from your heart. God listens to prayers from the heart
BUT also remember God can and will answer no or wait because he knows what is best for us and he knows that some things are learning experiences that we may need to go through. So if you are in trials seek what God is trying to show you through it all.

    That's good advice.
Also asking for strength to endure is helpful.
