I am being sued as I quit my job. In contract it asked for thirty days written notice, which I gave, still being sued in small claims for 10,000? Employer gave summons as we were leaving.

Hi, bossman. I think there is more to the story then just quitting and giving notice. Why the figure of $l0,000. Your post would indicate there were more then just you.
Is this leaving your ex-employer high and dry for unfinished work ?
Tickle
My family was leaving-that refers to we. There was no money owed to employer. Replacement was already hired two days prior to my leaving. Employer mad I did not fulfill contract, one year with 30 days written notice if leaving. Employer filed for max small claims amount. Huge costs to return for court date
If the styory is as you relate, that you fulfilled the terms of the contract by giving appropriate notice, then the employer will lose. Unfortunately you will have to show up to fight it. I would file a countersuit for your costs since this appears to be a frivolous suit.
? Was there any payment when they hired you, expenses in moving you ? If you had a contact that allowed them damages if you left before the year, they may have a case,
If and how they have a case is all in the written contract. I know I have went to work for companies in the past, there were "head hunters fees" and moving costs, if I had left before a year I would have owed them 10's of thousands.
