    Foot lock bathtub drain
I was wondering how you remove the top of the drain. It pops up and down, and I have turned it counter clock wise for an hour... hope someone out there can help me get the top off.

This is just from my experience and FYI, but I believe most foot lock drains are the same. The top decorative cover screws off and that gives you access to a screw which allows removal of the stopper unit. If the unit is plastic it should come apart easily. If it's metal the cap may be stuck on, and even the plastic will get stuck from all the waste water. I put a small screwdriver in and under the cap to prevent the stopper from turning and got the cap off. Don't twist to hard or the plastic will break, and so may the metal as on cheaper units it is cast pot metal. Most of the new ones appear to be plastic but then again I can't afford upscale($$$$$$) bath fixtures :(

If this is the metal kind that pull up from the drain, then you have to hold it in the up position and turn it slowly until you see a set screw in the neck of it. Loosesn that set screw and it should come out.

If nothing else works then hold the top part from turning and unscrew the little knob and pull the top assembly up and out. Good luck, Tom
