    I suppose legally, it's worth a dollar.
Although it makes sense that some collectors might be willing to give you more for it.

Older coins would be worth more however anything made of paper does't last long unless it's kept in only the best possible conditions. I recently stumbled upon an electric bill dated 1978 that fell behind the wall, while doing some remodeling. It was very brittle and would snap in half at the slightest bend.

In order to make it last many more decades, you'd almost have to frame it and keep it in a dry environment without major temprature swings.

Me? I'd probablay give up to $20 or so for it just for a conversation piece, but no more because I don't have the means to preserve it past a few more decades before the paper material finally breaks down. Not like I have a vacuum chamber or anything to hold it in.

I guess in reality, something's worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for it. If I had one and someone offered me $1,000,000. It's SOLD :)

    Hum...

I withdraw my last post. After reading some of the other post in this forum, it's clear I'm out o touch with the value of old money. I figured a dollar was worth a dollar...

But I'm a far cry from a "collector". The only thing I collect is scrap metal.. (haha) Pay no mind to me!

There are no letters after the 1928. Wooden is the secretary of tres. And N. O. woods is the other one. It says United States Note across the top. There is an "A" in front & behind the serial #. Hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Merry Christmas.

Momsmoney - THE 1928 $1.00 dollar note that you have is as follows - IT IS A UNITED STATES NOTE ( IT WAS ALSO CALLED A LEGAL TENDER NOTE; IT HAS THE RED SEAL ON IT ALSO WHICH THEY STARTED USING ON THE NOTE AGAIN IN 1890, through 1928
And they went back to the Blue Seal on the Silver Certificates

    VF-20 UNC-63 QUANITY PRINTED

    # 1500. - $ 100.00 $ 325.00 1,872,012

    # 1500 *-$ 5000.00 $ 25,000.00 8,000
THE ( * ) is for notes with a { star before or after the SERIAL NUMBER
I hope that this answers your question , if you need any more help come back to this post:: Here's WISHING YOU AND YOURS , A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR,GOD BLESS :: F.B.E.

I have a 1928 one dollar bill with orange seal (circulated condition), double dated, with funny back. The print of the bill does not look centered.
