    Floor heater
Hello guys ! I live in a late 1930's built Southern California home, I have a floor heater which used to work just fine until the gas company shut the gas off on my block due to an emergency, now the heater won't come on, the gas company techincian came over and couldn't light it up, so I had to go under the house in the crawl space and got to the heater and push down on the pilot but no gas will come out, I checked the electrical connections and I can't get any reading on my multimeter, ( I'm not an electrician but I do have an idea how to use it), the unit is fairly new and in great condition, so my question is, What is the problem here?
Thank you very much for any information, I appreciate it.

Can you crack open the gas line somewhere close to where it ties into the furnace or gas valve to see if you have gas coming to the unit, maybe at a union?
