My kenmore elite washer will not spin. How to fix

It's probably the lid switch needs replaced. This is a very common part that goes. It's located where the lid latches into the basket. YOu have to test this to see if it's bad. The part is not that expensive and you can do this repair yourself in a few minutes. Hardest part is taking the top off the washer. Basically the lid switch is one of those safety thingys that prevents the washer from spinnng if the lid is up.
