I have the same problem, I bought the floor model without the instruction manual, have you found one yet? I am tempted to go back to the store and find a comperable fan and break open the box right there in the store, read the directions, and put them back!

I found the manual. Took me awhile. I went to the Hampton Bay site and got directed to the Home Depot site where the manual was.
