Lost parental rights do I still have to pay child support?
I live in Massachusetts and have been involved in a case with the department of social services for a few years now. My ex had custody of my children but was staying with me on and off. I was ordered to pay child support. Then the children were taken into DSS custody. When they are first taken by DSS do I still have to continue to pay child support? And if so do I have to pay child support after I lose my parental rights and my children are adopted?

As far as I'm aware, yes; your obligation to support your children doesn't expire just because your rights were terminated.

    Hello tahoe:

Lose parental rights - you pay. Children adopted - you don't pay.
