    May I be of service?
I became confused when I heard these terms with reference to the word 'service'.

    Internal Revenue 'Service'
    U.S. Postal 'Service'
    Telephone 'Service'
    TV 'Service'
    Civil 'Service'
State, City, County & Public 'Service'
    Customer 'Service'

This is not what I thought 'service' meant. But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' a few cows.

BAM!! It all came into focus.

Now I understand what all those 'service' agencies are doing to us.

Now you are as enlightend as I am.

Legal service = consenting adults. Secret service = having an affair. Worship service = it's a priest thing, let's not go there... Loan servicing = you do me now, I'll get you back later. Service with a smile? This requires no explanation. Government services? Puh-leez! Here's how that works: pro is the opposite of con; so naturally, progress is the opposite of congress.
