    Soar nipples
Hi, I am 21 years old and since yesterday my nipples have been soar and I had a very bad episode of stomach cramps in my lower abdomen. It slowly crept up on me and only lasted about 15 minutes but it slightly hurts today. I had unprotected sex the last few days of my period about 3 weeks ago and again a week ago with a condom. I finially got my birth control refilled from the health clinic and I've been back on it for 3 days. I took a pregnancy test today but it came back negative. I am really confused of what it could be. Any advice here?

One more thing, I've been with the same partner for 3 years so I can't have any STD's. And my paps for the last 2 years were normal.

Pregnancy tests don't always work until it's time for your period. Maybe you should go to the clinic and have a blood test done.

But I'm not sure when I will have my period because I just started my birth control so it won't be until about 20 days until I have my period. I also smoke and I don't want it to be effecting anything if I am pregnant.

Go in for the blood test. Did you start taking the birth control right after you stopped your last period? If you did then you SHOULD be covered. I stress the word should. I got pregnant on birth control...

I'd say if pregnancy isn't possible in this situation or gets ruled out. It could be something else. Was the pain generally on one side and then migrated to your whole lower abdomin? If that is the case it could have been an ovarian cyst rupturing. Generally a lot of women have them and don't even know. I'd say talk to your ob/gyn and have them schedule a sono. It'll rule out both in one shot or give you your answer. Also are you on a low estrogen pill? Because that can actually make them worse. Definitely get checked out though because if a cyst is large enough and ruptures it could be fatal.
