    Fell now very very sore
Hi, I just found this site & hope someone can help...
Yesterday (Friday) I fell down our back steps (Hit a piece of ice & fell) & I thought I only hit my behind but after waking up this morning being sore I asked my son if I hit any other part of my body (Didn't remember) & he told me Yes, I hit my back & right arm when I fell. As I said I woke up a little sore in my right upper arm this morning but as the day went on it got worse & worse.
I had to pick up my baby today (he weights around 30 lbs) & I immediately had to put him down because the pain was so severe I was afraid I'd drop him & the pain hasn't gotten any better sense.
I tried laying down & raising my arm to keep it from moving but again when I did get up & tried to move my arm, it was like it was major major stiff & hurt just like it did when I picked up my baby earlier.
I have tried to take tylenol but that didn't help either.
If I feel for the area that hurts it's on my Right Upper Arm (Under Side). It does hurt to the touch when I'm feeling for the area that hurts.
    Any idea's?
    Thanks

Yes dear ,I have an idea and that is you should seek medical help.

I understand that you may not have insurance but most ER's in the US are required to treat you regardless of payment on demand. You can be billed.Even if you say you are self pay many hospitals are required to accept you. I believe the Catholic Hospitals claim to do that .

You sound very bright so I am curious as to why you would ask such an important medical question on a site such as this.

They may call us experts and some may be but the vast majority are just people with experience and opinions

I would see a doctor... I hope you feel better soon and have a nice holiday!

    Thanks for your help.
My husband think's I may have just bruised it but since the pain has gotten worse over the day, like I said I just found this site & I HATE HATE Drs so I thought I'd ask here first.
    Thanks again.

Why would one "hate" people that are there to help you, that offer help from pain and are there to keep you well.
Your family doctor should be a trusted friend.

Emergency rooms are not a plesent place to have to go to but you really don't have much choice. You could have a broken arm, and the bone could be moving and if it is there is a possibility that the broken bone could sever a nerve and leave you with a damaged arm for life. Yet something worse than that is the possibility that you have internial damaged bolld vessels and one could throw off a blood clot and it could move to your lung, head, or heart. So please take the chance of getting a good ER doctor and go to the hospital.

If your arm is swollen, chances are you might have a hairline fracture. If it's not swollen and just hurts like the blazes, then you just bruised it. You need to baby your arm until it gets better. Not easy to do with a young one wanting to be picked up. I, too, don't go to doctors unless I'm dead (or almost dead) and don't run to hospital emergency rooms either. You must have fallen on something like a rock, stone, or some sharp corner for your arm to be acting like this. Go back to the site of the accident and try and figure out what you fell on. You can try putting some analgesic cream on the arm as well. I stumbled onto something called Mobysil cream that I use for my messed up ankle that I twisted the heck out of back in May and it still hurts me now. No, it was not broken, just wrenched everything in my ankle, knee, calf, etc and is still healing up. The cream helps take away the pain.
