Living in a museum exhibit, mom helps daughter escape
 In the book a girl and her family are living inside of a museum exhibit. The exhibit is set in the pioneer days, and most of the people (or just the kids, can't remember) are unaware that they're living inside one. At some point, there's a hidden camera in a tree or something. Someone gets sick, and the mother helps the daughter escape out into the modern world to get help since there was already a cure for the illness they had. It turns out that the mother and father had volunteered for this project. The museum owners film the girl since the moment she leaves so they could see her reaction to the modern world. It's a really goooood book! I just can't remember the name or the author but I remember reading it in middle school.

    Wondering Along

I think this is "Running Out of Time" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. :) The girl is named Jessie.
