We are remodeling our bathroom and have installed a ceiling fan. We removed a double outlet socket and are replacing it with a combination switch/socket device. Outlet and switch. The incoming wires are the following:
1. Black, white, and ground from the fan.
2. Black, white, red, and ground from above the outlet.
3. Black, white, and ground from below the outlet.

How can I wire this device to power the outlet and turn the fan on and off with the switch? I appreciate your help! Thank you.

Before I can hepl with this connection I need to know what the existing following cables are for:

2. Black, white, red, and ground from above the outlet.
3. Black, white, and ground from below the outlet.

The new cable to the fan, the black will get connected to the load side of the switch, and the white needs to connect to neutral , which is probably the other two whites that will need to connect all together.

The two exisitng blacks probably need to connect togetherone being a feed in and the other feeding something else downstream on the circuit.

I just don't know what the red is. It may be another circcuit feed. Can you test each wire to determine which are hot?

All the bare wires will splice together and a jumper needs to connect to the green screw on the device.

I don't know what the cables are for, they were the cables that connected to the double outlet socket.

Can you tell me how they were originally connected to the outlet? Without testing it is difficult for me to tell what is what. Do you have a voltage tester to check each for voltage.
