Honeywell T8195 NON-digital Programmable thermostat malfunctioning
I'd like to troubleshoot if possible. Battery backup. Multiple on, off pins available.

Can't find troubleshooting information on Honeywell site, nothing similar either.
All models have indicators or other options not part of this one.

I have same unit upstairs and it works fine. This one has specific issues:

    1) Small On/Off indicator wheel seems "backward" (Red shoud be heat, and is not, etc)

    2) The timer/clock runs exceptionally slow, resulting in unreliable performance.

    3) Temperature variance seems very large.

    4) Even with manual operation, the response seems "odd".

I have replaced the AA battery. It COULD be the battery connections I suppose, I
Don't know if the batteries are a backup or the actual power.

I plan to replace this unit with a 7600 (I believe it is) digital, but until then
I am freezing and wasting a lot of gas.

Thank you! I entered the wrong data about the thermostat. It is "NON-digital, not NON-programmable". I just rechecked the AAA (not AA) batteries, and found residue, and upon removing them, the unit chugged and turned on. I am going to replace the batteries, after cleaning the contacts (any suggestions welcome), and then adjust the settings per the manual. Do you know if this unit is ONLY battery operated? It seems the battery situation actually interferred with the thermostat function? Thank you again! (Freezing in Las Vegas!)

Battery or non battery is listed in the manual. Glad you got it working. Keep a copy of that manual on your computer for future needs.

I will! And,Thank you, again! I learned a little more about the "red" and "blue" pins and "selectors". I am a wanna-be techie person and I really enjoyed fixing this problem!

I see a bright future for you in the HVAC industry, as long as you can maintain that attitude... as long as you can maintain that attitude... as long as you can...
