2005 Honda civic ex has no power
Car is getting absolutely no pwer whatsoever. It all started when my nephew washed the car's engine. I replaced the batter (needed a new one anyways). I have checked the main battery fuse 80 A (under hood) with a tester, both sides work just fine along with the other fuses in the car. Under neathfuse box the wires have power too. I get no power at all. No horn, no turnsignal , no headlight, as if the car had no battery placed. I used an air compressor on all the electronics, even on the ECU. Still nothing. What could it be?

. Clean battery terminals and cable connections. Ensure connections are tight.

. Test all underhood and underdash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

Did you turn the ignition switch to ON (Position II) and test each fuse?

Yes I did.. the only fuses not working are for my power windows.. but the actual fuses are fine... I know it had to do something with the washing of the engine.. I figure though at least I would have power in the car.. I don't but my fuses are lighting up

Look for any other mega fuses going to the alternator. These type of issues frequently involve the alternator shorting out.

Do you have an immobilizer system on your car, which was triggered when you replaced the battery?

Even interior lighting.. that's what kills me.. no headlight, dome light, no radio.. etc.

Be sure to check for codes, particularly a Code 20 (Electrical Load Detector).

I see what your saying. But I turn the key to position 2 and nothhing lights up on the instrument panel which pertains to fuse#3. which lights up by the way. I was able to change the steering rack and pinion for my nephew over the weekend, ( I felt like a champ! Haha) what a ball-buster that was, and now I'm stumped.

Be sure to clean main grounds, so as not to overlook anything basic.

Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting:

Integrated control unit, dome light, which aren't working by the way.. I'm guessing the integrated control unit is a fancy name for instrument panel

Since the dash lights don't come on, I suspect the problem might very well be a bad ignition switch, which are easy to replace. Pull it apart and check for wear, pitting, or melting.
