Should I take it back to court?
My child's father thought he wanted to be in her life and he has been taking me to court off and on for the last 4 years. Now that the courts made him pay for a G.L. for a cool 1800.00. The G.L. made one report saying that he should start visation slowly based on the fact that he has a home and room for her to spend time in. Well now he has no job no home and to make things really crazy he moved out of state. He also is not paying child support. There is an open case that he started how do I close it? I have no new address for him. The G.L. knows that he has moved but no one is doing anything about it. I don't want the father to come back in a year and start all of this over agine.

What is the open case for?

If he is not paying court ordered child support then he may be found in contempt.

You can ask for an open case to be dismissed if the other party fails to appear at a hearing.

But there is little you can do to prevent him returning if he gets his act together.

In reading through your posts in November 2008 you were trying to get him back into Court so I'm a little confused here.

Which one of you opened the "case" you are talking about here - ?

It is sad that when a father comes and wants to do the right thing, visit and see their child, the mother fights it, Fathers have rights also.

But he can come back anytime until the child is18 and try and get visits again. There is nothing you can do that stops that right.

In some states he can go for many years without seeing his child, but if he returns and requests visitation, he will probably get it.
