Have any of you guitar players out there played a Garrison Guitar yet?

I played one in a music store and bought it. I love it. Made in Canada but that did not figure in once I heard the deep, richest tone I can only compare to a really good Gibson acoustic. As a matter of fact, I liked it so much I bought another one. Their collectors or limited edition. The thing is, if you go to their web site, look at the materials they are made of and then compare them to a Taylor or Martin as far as price. Anyone that has one or has played one please give me your opinion.

Glad you found one you like, guitars are a very personal item, my wife
( who is a gospel singer) is very small and ended up getting one made to fit her size properly ( and to get that purple shade she just had to have)

She had Daisy Rock ( mainly made for the ladies due to being very light weight) ** but yes I know some of you gentlemen out there also play them.

I looked up their web site and found some dealers in our state but no one selling them within 100 miles, so we were not able to go and look at them in person.

Each person has to like the feel, the grip, the weight to fit them properly, along with the tone fitting the type of music you normally do.

I fool around with the lap steel guitars myself.

I've never even heard of them myself. Canada does produce some really outstanding guitars though. I personally love Seagull acoustics, and Godin electrics. Both made by the same company. The use of wild cherry in their acoustics is something fairly unique, and lends to a really fantastic tone. Currently I play a Takamine 40th Anniversary model for an acoustic.

Thanks Magprob, I will. By the way, it's an Alvarez 40th Anniversary. :rolleyes: I said I've owned too many guitars. :D Been a while since I owned a Takamine. A nice Mahogany model I probably shouldn't have gotten rid of.

It was not really the slide as much as over all build for my wife, she is very short, very small hands, but also very large in a couple of other places, so we finally had one made to mold more to her contour.
