    Draining into back yard
The drain from my washing machine is going outside. The water from my washing machine isn't going through my plumbing system. What do I do?

How long has this been going on? Did you just discover the problem?

Are you on city sewer or a septic system? Back to you, Tom

What do you do, well you connect to the drain line already in your home. You need at least a 2" pipe by current code but the 2009 code will need a 3" pipe. How close are you to your current main drain and does it exit the house through the floor or the wall?

This is usually set up the way you have it because people don't wan't to drain washer into septic tank. You can either connect to septic or clean the old drain ( or also, you my replace it with new run )
