Coleman Evcon Ignition Control
New tech here. I work almost exclusively on RV's but got a call today to look at a furnace on a mobile home with a Coleman 7956-656 furnace. It has an Evocn 1474-004 Ignition Control box.
When heat is requested at the thermostat, the blower runs and the glow plug glows hot but no 24v at the gas valve. There is 24vac going into the thermostat lug on the Ignition control box.
I jumped 24vac from the top pin on the ignition control box to the gas valve and the furnace gas valve opened and the furnace ran fine.
Because I have limited experience with this system, I hate to change an ignition control board unless someone can verify I am on the right track.
Am I supposed to get 24vac to the gas valve as soon as the thermostat calls for heat?
How does flame sense work on this system. I did not see any flame sense probe near the burner tube/glow coil.
Thanks a bunch for your help.
