Space between toilet drain and bathroom wall
    Hi Tom,

I'm in the process of framing my basement and the last thing I need to do is the bathroom. I think you've told me on here before that the center of the toilet drain to the wall should be 12 inches but when I measure the center to where I'll be putting the wall, based on where the lavatory drain stub up is, I get about 14 inches. Is this a problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kevin G.

Hi Kevin, nice seeing you again.

There won't be a problem if having the tank a few inches off the wall doesn't bother you If it does disturb you you have options. You can fur rhe wall out 2" totake up the slack or you can install a 1 1/2 or 2" offset closet flange, and bring the toilet back against the wall.
    Good luck, Tom
