    Breaking lease due to going in military
    Son is going into the military as of 12/19. Has not paid dec rent. Landlord wants to keep deposit. Can they do this?

    Did he give notice?

    I know you can break a lease if you go on active duty but you have to give notice to the landlord.

    He can break the lease for the military with a 30 day notice ( it may be 60 day in some states according to terms of lease)

    So when did he give notice, he will owe for December for sure since he was living there.

    So on Dec first did he give notice ?
