Pool cleaning as a side job
Do I need insurance or permits to do pool cleaning and small maintenance jobs?
This would be as a side job to my regular work.
    I live in South Carolina.

    Hi, tilton!

Sure, you're going to need at least liability insurance in case you might damage something. You also might want to insure your equipment.

Whether you need permits or maybe even a license or not could be found out by asking city officials where you'll plan to be working. If you do a Google search for the city or county where you want to search, there might even be a city and/or county website where you could ask the people directly who would know the best.

    Thanks!

Yes, insurance, say you put a wrong chemical in a pool, someone gets in and is injured, they sue?

Or you damage the property ?

Also in most areas you are suppose to have a business license.
