    Sharing rooms
    I am separated and my wife has residential custody of my seven year old son and five year old daughter in a small apartment where they share a small bedroom.is that legal??

    Yes, unless they are in public housing which often has rules.

    If you search using the search feature at the top of the page, next to the AMHD logo, you will see this has been posted many times.

    If you furnish the name of the State someone will do specific research but as far as I know unless it's public housing OR covered in a Court order there is no problem.

    Don't stress, think of it this way they have a house and a bed to sleep in... not that long ago it was normal for kids to share a bed until they were to big to fit in it! :)

    Yes this is legal. If your children were over 16 then it would be illegal as they are off different gender. But they are under the age limit so it is perfectly legal and normal for them to share a room,

    There are really no laws on this, some apartment and public housing have rules for their rentals ( that are normally broken)

    Is there some reason you don't believe they are being well taken care of?

    Have one of them complained of something improper going on ?

    Would you post the law on this? The question is asked frequently and I would like to have correct information.
