this morning I woke up at 4:30 because my stomach and throat hurt and plus my cat was waking up and started to meow but once I feel back asleep an hour later I had the weirdest dream. Last week this boy that goes to school with me commented my on myspace picture and told me "27th....best day of December" and it was because of his birthday and I he would love it for me to wish him a happy birthday and then like he just randomly IMed me and started talking to me. So then this past Wednesday I went to open gym up at the church I go to w. a bunch of my volleyball girls and Ben* was up there and like his friends were whipping the balls at us but he never tried to hit me and like when he would go to shoot he would make sure I was looking at him like I could see out of his corner of his eye that he was looking at me to make sure I was watching. And he's real tall and so am I, but the problem is I have a boyfriend that I care a lot about. But to the dream part you need to know that other stuff to most likely get why I had this dream. Because I did start to like Ben and when I thought I didn't I had this dream. I was down town wher ei live and for some odd reason I was taking a sh!t and the Ben was there but outside waiting for me and I didn't know he was there. When I went out he surprised me and like he asked me to hang out with I'm so I did and like he didn't quit giving me hugs and they were the best hugs in the world and he were hanging with his group of friends and he's like the baseball player type the kind that care what their friends think well he didn't in my dream he was holding my hand and hugging me and stuff the whole time we were together and then I woke up. I don't know what to think of that because I think in my dream I was going out w. the boy who I am in real life and I really don't know what to think of this dream. It's the first time I've dreamt of another guy when I was with my boyfriend and it be this like real feeling. Pleasee help (:

In my experience, dreams are highly suggestive and a result of an external stimulus in your day to day life. If you dreamed about this boy, maybe it is because you've been wondering about him during the day, while you were awake.

Dreams are that mental vacation that our brains go on every night. Personally, I wouldn't put much stock in them as "predictions" or anything else.

Because, if such was the case, I had nightmare not too long ago - I sure don't want that to happen! :)

Don't worry about it. If you really think it is "freaky" and weird, talk to your boyfriend about it - say, "Wow. I had this really weird dream last night" and laugh about it with him.

I think Historian Chick is pretty much right on your dream here but I want to add that the dream seems to indicate to me that you are feeling vulnerable to your liking this guy and wishful thinking that he feels the same about you.

Thanks, well I told Ben about the dream and he said that that's weird, but I haven't told my boyfriend yet, because like he has had a really bad past with girls hurting him and leaving him for another guy and I don't know if I want to tell him about the dream.

Yeah dreams can be personal and he may take it bad. I know I wouldn't tell him. I very rarely share my dreams.

Yeah, they are. And I hardly share mine too, but this one I needed to know what the heck it meant haha.

I would have to say most people would be a little nervous if their boyfriend/girlfriend told them a dream that was about getting hugged by someone else. Your boyfriend probably would tend to read into it that the dream meant you had feelings for Ben, and also would likely think it even worse that you found it important enough to tell him.

Dreams that involve going to the bathroom like that can be a little weird. But it's a bodily function, part of our physical life. In dreams it can be about health and body, and about letting go of things that should be let go of. Once you got past that part, then you had the nice part of the dream about hugging Ben. It doesn't necessarily mean you are in love with Ben or not in love with your current boyfriend. You may feel a connection with Ben that your brain is exploring in the dream, and it could be any kind of connection--physical (like sports and stuff), emotional, friendship, romantic. But that's okay. We have the potential to have all different kinds of connections with all different kinds of people. It's the choices we make that are important. If you want to stay in the relationship you are in, then do that. Whatever would be possible with Ben, make it clear to yourself, and, if necessary, to him, that you aren't looking to go down that road. You may have the potential to develop a closer friendship with Ben, but that can be tricky. Your boyfriend will have to be pretty mature to accept that you have friends who are male, and trust you deeply enough not to freak out about it.
