I got a dui in Florida but didn't sign the ticket can I get it dropped
I was pulled over in port orange and got a dui but when they wrote up the ticket they never had me sign it and I was fully capable of signing it so I was wondering if I could get the charge dropped?

    Hello cheznee:

Nope, not for just that. But, I WOULD hire a lawyer. Maybe HE can find something that WILL work.

Nope, while they prefer to have you sign it, as proof you were given a copy of it, it does not make give you any grounds to get it dismissed. The officer not signing it, maybe, but they can always re-issue a ticket within the statue of limitation on that crime.

Unfortunately that defense won't work to get ticket dropped.

If you refuse to sign the ticket the Officer testifies that he gave it to you so the fact that you didn't sign (being fully capable, despite being DUI) doesn't matter - at least in NY.

I would say it's not grounds to drop the charge.
