My old unit has the W1, W2, and the Y wires. It states to call a contractor. I have, and they do not know the answer. Do I use the W1 or W2 wire for the AUX, and what do I use for the B wire. My old unit does not have one.

If my old Bryant unit (heat pump) used the following:

O, R, G, Y, W1, W2, E, F, AND C. I have wires enough for the new Honeywell RTH3100C, with the exception of the B (can sub "H") wire. What do I use here, or do I keep it empty on the grid? I will only be using 1 of the W wires. Which one do I put into the AUX, the W1, or the W2?

Since I am not there Chris it is just about impossible to to tell the wiring without the possibility of a mistake. I can provide you with a change over list that could be of some help. Post old thermostat model and the brand you said was a Bryant?

Yeah, it's a Bryant. Model number shows to be LR11746. I put the W1 into the AUX. Now, I have a W2 wire, no B or H wire to put into new thermostat, and neither a L or F. What would I use in the L terminal if I don't have anything? Same for the B. I have gained much respect for you guys throughout the day!

Same old thermostat made by Trane,called Bay stat and also used by GE yours just has a different label/name. Some of the wires will not be used and can be taped off. Also see below.

Yes, this did help me. I actually put the W1 into the AUX and the W2 into the L or F terminal. I just turned power on to it. Thanks a lot!
