    Gas valve failure Payne PG8MAA042090AAJA
I replaced the gas valve yesterday morning, by 8 pm the same problem happened. I noticed the circuit board was not flashing any fault codes and was not locking the furnace out. i.e. the ignitor glows and the gas valve circuit energizes for a moment ( with wires attached to gas valve) and then inducer stops for a second and then the sequence starts all over again-- indefinetly ! If I remove the wires from the gas valve the voltage on these wires reads about 25 volts for about 5 seconds then the ignitor goes out and the cycle repeats. I am thinking that the board needs to be replaced. Could the board be taking the valve out ? HELP!!

Could be a faulty circuit board. There was a production run of boards (Carrier, Bryant, and Payne) that experienced failure of the solder joints at the square multi-pin receptacle. If you can remove the blower door and tape the interlock switch, run the unit and give the connector plug a wiggle when the inducer cuts out. If you notice this action affecting the inducer operation, you probably have a bad board.
