I remember this old sci fi show that had ray liotta or a look-alike in it where he played a young doctor sent to be trained as replacement for an older doctor (played by a black man) I remember it was on a strange sci-fi planet with funny skies, waterfalls, weird buildings... the works.
In particular I remember one scene with a strange surgical procedure where red gloves were put on the doctors hands in reverse motion, and he reached into the patients body without breaking the skin to remove a parasite... The parasite had been placed by a political opponent/assassin? Im not clear on details... just a few ditinct images.
