    Non lease
Hi, I moved in with friends back in feb. We had agreed I pay 300 a month for a room. Back in sept I told them id move in nov. I never stayed there in oct and just asked if I could store my things there until I move. I was told I still had to pay the full amount for oct and nov. we I arrived to pick up my things all my things had been moved and had been thrown into one area. I put a stop payment on a check because I felt a paid too much money and was being treated unfairly.. do they have a case?

Yes, Stop payment is not the proper format to resolve this issue

You have no right to withhold rent. You could be arrested for passing a bad check. If you want to sue them for overcharging, you might have a case, but its very iffy. The fact that they packed up your things and moved them is the only thing you have going for you.
