I have those hardwood floors that are not individual planks. One small, short section in an alcove (plus around 3 inches of an adjacent long section) are stained with cat urine; they are very dark and the wood was light. (I had a litter box with LOTS of protection under it, but it seems my cat sitter shifted something; this probably happened months ago--discovered when I removed the padding and box.)

I used a floor cleaner on them--no go. I know that when I move out, I can have both the sections replaced. But I seem to recall that refinishers used bleach and sunlight to lighten furniture wood. Would this reduce the discoloration or would it simply ruin the finish altogether? The sun hits that corner quite strongly, and I left it uncovered.

Cat urine soaked into wood is near impossible to get rid of. Since you know you will eventually need to replace the sections I'd recommend doing it now. Other fixes will be costly and still may show. The floor would need to be sanded, treated with Natures Miracle or some other enzyme treatment, allowed to dry, bleached and then restained abd sealed. That's a lot of work for a temporary fix.

Maybe something like lemon juice and then bleach,with the sunshine?
