    Utility Sink Pump clog
Can you use drain cleaner in a utility sink that has a pump? If not how can you unclog it?

    Hi LegoABC:

Drain cleaner probably won't do a thing and probably bad for parts of the pump.

You did already check the breaker/fuse right? Can you tell me how many electrical plugs associated with your system?

The type of utility sink pump will determine how to unclog it so a name on the pump or the collection pit would be helpful. However, most likely, you will need to disconnect the pipes, both the vent and the drain pipe, and remove the pump from the collection basin to unclog unit.

Of course, if you can rotate the collection pit you may be able to peek through a hole and move the float inside as that may in itself be the issue. (MUST unplug the electric cord to do this).

If there is no collection pit and this utility pump is directly connected to the sink then you also need to drop that from the sink and check the inlet/outlet.

Let me know if need more here...
