2 1/2 months ago the floor drain started back up, called plumber to check for roots and blockage. They thougt roots since their snake would not come back. Anyway called the sewer guy to drain the 2 tanks that I had just had pumped the year before. Sewer guy said get an excavator need to see if any roots. Did that cleared a small gathering of roots form the 2nd tank. Extendend the drain field. A $1000.00 later I still have water coming from the floor drain and both tanks are full again. There is obviously something going on but can't figure it out. Any suggestions? :(

So you have s eptic tank, tight? Septic tanks are full even when they are functioning properly. When full then and only then do they overflow out to a sand filter or field tiles. When they extended you field did they get a good flow at the end of the new tile?

Yes. Good to know about the tanks. Yes, good flow. The overflow is not like waste, its clear - clean water.

Hello, just a thought, when they pumped out your septic tank did they check the outlet side at the baffle tee? Some tanks have filters at the outlet side of the tank, and the filter could be plugged and need cleaning. Ask the co. that pumped the trank for you if they checked the filter. Did you say your overflow is clear, that is not my experience. It may not look like the sewage in the bottom of the tank but it isn't clear like tap water.

No the water coming up from the floor drain is clear. Weird thing, I unplugged the water softner and shut of the valve to the water softner and for 2 days I have not had water coming up the floor drain? Could that be the problem?

I think you just answered your own question, the floor drain is plugged and it's the regeneration salt water that you are seeing. Rodding a floor drain is not all that easy unless you get the right equipment. Is your floor drain pit cast iron or PVC. There may be a plug down inside the drain prior to the integrated elbow trap that can be removed allowing rodding around the trap. If not, getting past the trap can be tricky.
