    Slow hot water
We had superb water pressure until a few weeks ago when the hot water started running slow in the kirchen and bath sink. The tub is hooked up to the same line and is OK. Can you help??

Is the hot water only running slow in these fixtures or is the cold water also affected?

    Hi Jane:

Chase out the pipes going to the kitchen sink and bathroom sink... somewhere there is probably a common shutoff that has become clogged with debris or sediment. If you find this shutoff then shut the house main water supply, drain water to lowest point in the house and then try to disassemble the shutoff and clear the line of sediment/debris by running water without guts in place. Worst case, replce the shutoff.

If nothing obvious, like a common shutoff, then it may be wise to shut water off to one of the faucets, remove the cartridge/washer, pulse water for 3-4 seconds into a rag covering the faucet, clean the cartridge/washer and then replace and see if that restored flow. If so, repeat for other faucet.

If not then the problem is further back at the shutoffs under sink (can remove the stem/washer and purge water here, too) or elsewhere..?

Try this, get back to us...
