    Implantation bleeding?
I saw something that looked like implantation beleeding to me. (or perhaps it's just wishful thinking:) ) I was wondering if anyone knew the timeline from conception to implantation bleeding to a positive pt, just so I knew at what point to actually start trusting the pt. Thank you!

Implantation bleeding does not occur with every woman. The timeline goes something like this.

Okay, this is how it goes. Typically when a woman gets pregnant the egg is just out of the ovary and it is usually fertalized within the fallopian tube. At this point the zygote (fertalized egg) travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus and attaches itself along the lining of the uterus. This process takes 3 to 7 days.

Now, when it comes to menstruation. Menstruation is the shedding of the lining of the uterus. This tends to occur when the egg is not fertalized. There are hormones in your body that detect whether you are pregnant these are hCG hormones. If your body detects pregnancy there is an increase in hCG there is usually no period. If there is no increase in hCG, there is a period.

The length of time from implantation to fertalization is also different for every woman. You should be able to trust the HPT approximatley 3 weeks after implantation. A blood serum test will detect earlier and is more accurate.
