    After parvo
My dog was diagnosted with parvo last Friday (6 days ago), he stayed in the clinic for 4 days, the vet was giving him IV, and some kind of antibiotic, I went to pick him up today(wednesday) he hadn't thrown up since Monday morning, when we were coming from the vet he threw up a little bit, and then when we got home he drank some water, after a while he threw it up.
    Is this normal?
He doensnt want to eat either, I was told that it is going to take time for him to start eating again, what can I do to help him eat?
I cooked chicken and rice for him.
    Thanks!
    Erik

Parvo is a very serious illness to dogs, and sometimes fatal. Congrats to you for getting him into the vet so soon.

When my pup had parvo, 2 years ago now, it took several weeks before he was eating 100%. The vet explained to us that, just like humans, when they are so sick and not eating their stomach shrinks. This will take a while for him to get back to normal. He also will seem very tired for a while, this is all due to trying to fight off the parvo. Mine regained energy about 3 days after we brought her home. Make sure you take your pup back for follow-up visits though.

Just don't force him to eat, he will do it when he is ready. My vet suggested giving a cup of dry food made softer with some chicken or beef broth. That may be a try for you. Good luck.
