Hi -

My old ceiling fan has only two settings: high and low. I had left it working continually (non-stop) in the slow speed for a very, very long time.

I turned it off the other day, and now it will only operate in the high speed setting :confused: when I turn it on. Unfortunately, this won't work for me since it is way too strong in the high speed setting.

Is there some way I can get it to function properly in slow speed?

Any help will be appreciated. :) Thanks!

Thank you so much. You have already resolved this problem :) I went to your website (Kichler, Hampton Bay, and Casablanca ceiling fans - Ceiling Fans N More) and found pertinent information on this particular fan under FAQs.

I also went to your homepage (Tara Quest: Other Fans of Interest) and looked at the photos. The fan looks very much like the Hunter "Adaptaire". I'm not really sure, but it looks like a cheaper version of it.

The fan can be turned on and off from two wall switches - one for the light and the other for the fan. The fan itself has a pullchain, a switch (left to right to change the direction of the blades) and a rotary dial, just as you describe it in the FAQs.

So now, the fan is working nicely. I really appreciate your help.

I'd still be interested in seeing a picture of the fan, out of curiousity. But I'm glad you got it working.

It sounds like the bearings may need oil, since it stalled out on low.
