My brother died in Dec 2007. I have not seen my 4 year old niece since the summer of 2008. My brother's widow only calls when she wants something and my niece is living in a filthy roach infested home. She is always dirty and smells like urine. What can I do? I have already contacted social services but have not heard anything from them yet.

They do not contact you ,they are overwhelmed with caseloads and can barely keep up

If you gave your name at the time you made the report I would suspect that you can contact them to see if they have made a determination on the case.

Rarely do they give out information as clearly it is confidential.

I suggest you check on the situation personally( as in a visit without warning ) if possible make another complaint if you see the same condition.

I urge you to not give up on this as someone must speak for this child!

Do not give up when confronted with CPS bull... continue to fight for this child... you are her only voice!
