My kindda NEW friend but I know them very good they are nice people care about outhers smoke weed a lot I am getting influnced by that but my clean friend helped me out he is cool with them because theyr nice like I said not bad people but they just smoke weed and like to get high they are smart too how can I be friend with them and not get in to ll that BS. I am clean .now and want to stay clean.:eek: they smoke it a LOT about 15 of them maby more my outhers got cought and now are homeschooled and in jail

Stay away from them because as you can see some wind up in jail. It's good that you don't want to smoke weed and it's good that you don't want to get caught up in that mess. Stay strong minded.

You can always say no but that would make you look like a drag right?
How about telling them your parents drug test you

Or you are allergic due to a medical condition.

If you don't want to and they are your friends just say no and if they don't like it tell them to... off.

I know peer pressure is hard to resist but they are not you and do not have to live your life.

BTW.. if you are hanging with them and they get busted, so do you even if you have not done anything.It is guilt by association.

Don't ever let peer pressure decide anything for you.
Be your own person and in the end they will respect you for it and you will respect yourself as well.

How about understanding that there are a lot of other ways to injoy life without having to use a false input to give you enjoyment. This is pot or drinking.

Right now it is illegal, it can ruin your chance at a good job, can keep you out of better schools and basically destroy your life if caught.

I am 53 years old and the majority of people I know do everything from weed to crack and chewing fentonal patches and more.
Even when I was in my teens others would tell me they had a lot of admiration for me because I was my own person and didn't follow the crowd. That is what you need to do is be your own independent person and they will respect you if they don't then they aren't your friends anyway.
They may seem smart to you now but by the time you are in your 50's you will sometimes see how they do not see reality in the same perspective as you, they will forget and revise how things actually happened and argue with you. Often it is because they are in denial. Like you say they blew you off when you were suppose to do something together and they will make excuses and make up things to defend themselves.
Addicts have many games and the older you get the more you will see it.
I still have a lot of friends that do drugs but I do not let them get me sucked into their habit(s).

I had to spread the rep, but exactly! When I was in high school, even college, I had friends that smoked weed. Actually most of them did, and I never once have. I was never interested. If you want to still hang out with them and they are good people, they will understand. If not then you don't need to hang out with them.

I'm in the same situation as you. I just don't smoke it even if they are and I especially don't go with them if they are going to a dealer. You should be okay if you're just hanging out at a party with them as long as you aren't doing anything but don't let them drive you anywhere under the influence of anything.

TRUE EXCEPT IF the police become involved then you get in trouble as well.
Examples: You are riding in a car, get stopped and searched. They find drugs.
Everybody in the car gets charged unless MAYBE the others say you didn't know anything about the drugs or one person takes the blame.

My daughter, in her and her bf's apartment, was asleep because she had to go to work early the next day. She knew there were teenagers watching the football game with her boyfriend. She did not know that he then ordered a case of beer. The nosy neighbor called the police. My daughter was woke up, taken to jail and charged with contributing to underage drinking.

I fortunately have never gotten in trouble for anybody I know having drugs or being with drunks. I think because the police know I try and help them and do not do drugs and never drink much more than like a wine cooler.

Nothing profound or good will happen from getting high. Nothing horrible will happen if you get high a couple times responibly either. In the end it isn't the worst thing you could do, I would be more concerned with getting drunk and doing something that will get you in trouble than getting in trouble for smoking. I have smoked for a long time and enjoy it, but drinking has gotten me in trouble.

I'm sorry but this is not the kind of advice to be given to someone that is obviously fairly young and seems very impressionable. While I do not think you are glamorizing weed, you certainly aren't making any attempts to villainize it either.

You're exactly right. I don't think weed should be vilanized. Alcohol will make you do stupid things and should be vilanized and is much more dangerous to your health and future than weed is

Broncos, I agree that weed isn't a terrible thing but it isn't a good thing either. It may not get you killed, but it can risk your chance at getting a good job or going to jail.

To the OP, don't do anything you don't want to do, simple as that. Just be honest and say you don't like it, they won't care.. But be careful, because as many said. You can get fined.

I won't sit here and debate whether weed should be legal or not. The politics and debate that lay in that are not what this thread is about.

The simple fact of the matter is, that even being in possession of weed is against the law, and if you are otherwise clean, then there is no need messing your otherwise clean record up over it.

You answered your own question, you said you don't want to smoke weed.

So don't. If your friends can not respect that, then they are not very good friends.

I've been offered about everything. And I've always said no. I don't even drink or smoke, and I'm 28. I was first offered acid in 9th grade. Rejected it. Believe it or not, I wasn't offered weed until I was about 25. Still rejected it. Plus, now I'm of legal age to have a cigarette or beer, and I still choose not to. Contrary to everyone I know who likes to go out and get wasted every weekend.

Do I have mounds and mounds of friends for this? No, but the ones I have respect me for who I am.

Those friends shouldn't be your main friends if weed is in the picture. You can still be friends with them, but remember if they influence you than its better to stay away. I live in Brooklyn and there's a lot of peer pressure every where I go. It just a matter of saying "No Thanks im not into that" and doing what's best for you No matter what. If there really your friends than they will respect your decision.

Weed is not bad, at all. Smoking weed is still a minor harm to your health, because of smoke inhalation, but marijuana itself can't hurt you, no matter how much you use it, no matter how often you use it(although I don't recommend using it all the time, because it will get in the way of your life), if you use a vaporizer or make brownies or other edibles out of it, it cannot harm you. It is also not physically addictive, although some people do let it take over their life.


Its totally your choice whether to use weed, but I just want you to know the facts about it.

Weed is prescribed as medicine, you will never hear a doctor prescribe somebody alcohol or cigarettes, or any other recreational drug for that matter.

I recommend you try it once, to see if you enjoy it, if you don't, then don't, but if you do I welcome you to an incredibly enjoyable way to enhance your life, just be responsible.

While I agree with most of this, I must remind you that this thread isn't about any pro's and con's of smoking marajuana. What I don't agree with is trying it just to see what it's like.

Not because of any health reasons, but simply because it's against the law, and I would never encourage a minor (or anyone for that matter) to break the law.

The child said he doesn't want to smoke it. Everyone should respect, and encourage his decision.

It's not just weed I'm referring too, but he should have to do anything of such nature that he doesn't want to. It's the old saying of "jumping off the bridge".

And some people do jump off bridges for fun and the rush of it, but it's not for everyone.

I don't think what people tell you on here about why you should or shouldn't try weed should help you choose. You sound like you already know what you want and you should stick to that. Someone mentioned above about some excuses to make it seem like you can't but want to. If they are truly your friends they will accept your choice to smoke or not. Just making an excuse still leaves the answer up for translation.
Just be yourself and if they like you for you, you know you have good friends!

If I were you, I would try to stay away from those kids. Even though I want to stay clean, you can't help it but sometimes "try" some due to peer pressure.

I know how easy it seems to just "try" a smoke then stop. Once you try, you can't stop. Even if your lucky enough to stop, your friends won't let you.

I know that, the first time you do something wrong, you feel very very bad. You feel scared. But, the more you do it, the more familiar it seems and the more easy it is the do it again. I forgot what it's called.
