Banging Pipes - not water/air hammer
The pipes in my house bang right after the toilet has been flushed or the dishwashe ran. They typically bang every 20-30 seconds for several minutes then stop - sometimes longer and some times more often. I've turned off the water coming into the house and bleed out all the sink faucets and that has not helped. Any other ideas?

    Are you on town water?

My father put a water damper on his system from well.

He made his own by branching off the main line after whole house shut.
As high as possible putting a 2 ft length on main pipe with a value on the top. Close value.
Then re-charge the system this act as air damper. Air compresses easier then water.

You can buy damper with a spring value a pipe to put on.
