    Raising rent
I am curious to know if rent can be raised if your lease is not up. I live in Madison, WI. It is not stated in the lease that it can. Thank you I can not find the answer anywhere.

No, the rent cannot be raised during the term of the lease unless you both (landlord and tenant) agree - and I have no idea why you would do that. It's a contact and you cannot legally change the terms of the contract during the contract.

Can you be advised that if you renew the rent will increase? Yes.

If the rent is set in the lease, and the lease does not allow for it to be raised, no they can not raise it. You will find landlords that will try, hoping people don't know better
