Help! Have a 16 week old cavalier king charles spaniel who I have had for almost 2 weeks. She had a uti infection that vet gave me antibiotics for and tomorrow is her last dose. Each time I take her outside, she pees 2, 3 sometimes 4 times. I have stopped giving her praise and treats for all the pees, just the first one. Don't know if she is marking, smart enough to realize she may get a treat or if she still has a UTI... are all these pees normal?

I'd say to take her back to the Vet - there are all different kinds of infections and she very possibly either has a resistant strain or the antiobiotic is for another strain.

No way to know if she's marking, what she's doing, without a checkup.

When I had a dog, he had to pee on every single tree when he went for a walk. Once was never enough.

How will vet know if she still has a UTI? How do I attempt to get a urine sample from her? She is like 5lbs & I didn't have urine sample the first time dr diagnosed her. Explained symptoms to him and she yelped when he felt her lower abdoman.

He may very well just try another antibiotic if he can't get a urine sample. I've been known to attempt to sneak up on a urninating dog with a pie plate in an effort to get a urine sample. I've never been successful.

And, yes, I have one female who marks everything in her own yard.
