How do I keep the word program from opening every time I turn on my computer? I have Windows 2000 millennium edition.

Look for a Program Group called Startup, delete the entry that related to Word there.

Also if it is not listed there it may be under "start->run->msconfig then click startup tab" however use caution when removing check marks here. Also you may want to check the program itself because a lot of times it will say "start when windows starts" and if you uncheck this then it will rectify your issue.
